Why a blog? + About me...

Jan 2025 (good things take time) I felt a breakthrough.

While I've released podcasts on what it's like to be married to a chef, this week, I found a blog about being a Chef's wife.
Although I knew all she touched on, it still deeply resonated with me.
Finding that her posts maintained positivity while still depicting the reality of Chef wife life, I was inspired to reach out to her.
I was excited to see she was near me, then shocked to see, she passed in 2019 from cancer.
She noted that she left the blog up to help other Chef's wives.
And low and behold, 6 years after her passing, it reached me & still gave me the comfort of knowing, in these experiences, I am not alone.
That is what I seek to do, for all of these unique topics I've lived through.
Pass on wisdom, expand on experiences, & hope that you can find something that resonates.
As a young girl, I loved to read.

I was into novels, poetry, but as luck would have it, most my age weren't.
I was in AP English, & did well in school, but wondered what I should pursue as a career.
I was always into art, music, performing,...but my family always said, have a plan B.
Although I went to College, I didn't see the passion for life that I felt, in those around me.
With this in mind, I took a Hotel ROP class & began an internship in High School, working various hotels in San Diego, along with a Luxury Concierge company.
My hope with this was in working hospitality, it would make it easier to travel & explore new parts of the world. Also, I liked being involved in exciting events in the city.
One interesting part during my career, was noticing how people in the upper ranks regarded my pass down emails-
Too, long, too detailed.
Narrow it down to bulletpoints, or 3 sentences.
Interesting, as my attention to detail & care for work helped me move up the ranks...
Yet what I've seen over time, especially social media, is that societies attention span has gotten smaller & smaller.
So why a blog?
Well, I'm still going to do Vlogs on youtube, shorts for facebook & instagram, but THIS is for my readers.
Sure, it's true-not everyone has to the time to dig deep.
Yet writing, is not an entirely lost art.
For those who are open, I am here-to let you know you aren't alone.
Plus, I miss using my 90 WPM skills...gotta keep those fingers fast!
Working Hospitality & Travel for years, is a bit like embedding a unique code into your psyche.

You gain a 6th sense, understanding which places really embody the heart of customer service, & the guest experience.
The experience, is what makes things memorable.

The experience, is what we all long for.
For the date night-where a couple savors a new flavor together, holds hands tightly on a new rollercoaster, & embraces while they walk & enjoy the same sunset, & starry night sky.
For the twinkle in our kids eyes, as they see something entirely new & larger than life. For the moment we see our parents & our kids laughing together.
For our partners to lock eyes & think "this was worth it."
For the girls night, where you know the memories made will be inside jokes for years to come.

All of this happens, when all the right pieces fall into place behind the scenes.
When people have a heart for hospitality, they are much more likely to take your allergies seriously.
I miss working in Hospitality;
I had to change my career path, due to being a chef's wife.
Chef's have long, unpredictable hours.
As a parent, that just doesn't work for the kiddos-someone's schedule has to be a bit structured, so I had to adjust.
But, I am so thankful.
Working in hospitality, being a chef wife, & managing Food Allergies, have all taught me what to look for.
Now, I can give back & still show my love for travel through this blog, with a higher purpose- to help people find safe places to eat, healthy places to eat, & places that offer a top notch experience.
I am here to share the places that do this right!
